Agricultural Burn in Westmorland

Description:

Agriculture burning less than 2 miles from Westmorland Elementary School. Even though there was some wind blowing southwest, the smoke was able to be smelled at the school. Wesmorland Elementary School called us for recommendations. I was able to go to the school and take some pictures from the school, but burning was dying down. Burning was around 12:00 pm.

Administrator Comment: The DTSC Imperial CUPA has forwarded this complaint to APCD on 2/27/2017. *UPDATE: APCD approved this agricultural burn. The field in question is the same as described in the previous report. This was not categorized as a special burn as the field is over 1.5 miles away from the school. Projected winds were 0-5 mph from the northwest so they were blowing away from the school.
